Review of Minutes
The minutes were accepted with 2 revisions to wording in the treasurer’s report and under Basket Bingo.

Coach’s Report
Middle School - Dave will contact the coaches regarding certification. Jeff Trickey will be the assistant coach on the A team and Scott Michaud will be the B team coach. Both will be attending the level 1 clinic on 9/26 and will be scheduled for level 2 before the end of the year. Mark Roy will also help coach when he is available. The rule for middle school and USA hockey was clarified that there must be a level 3 coach on the bench. Because of the miscommunication of this rule, we can apply for a 1 year waiver and it will be decided based on prior coaching experience. The board will reimburse the coaches for their certification. This is approximately $45 for each level.

Dave discussed several changes that were proposed at the last Southern Maine Middle School meeting. A vote on these will be taken on Friday 9/17.

All actions will be by a majority vote Each team in good standing will have 1 vote League fees are increasing By-laws will be extended to regulate B teams as well as A. It is being considered to disallow A players to swing down to B and B to swing up for 6 games only. (to prevent using A players for play offs) – A vote will be taken on this at the next meeting. Leagues being re-configured. B will split into two divisions. No player can play more than 3 years on an A team. Maximum age is 14. If you drop out of a league for one year, you must reapply and pay a $100.00 fee.

Try-outs are scheduled for Middle School A hockey are October 27th and 30th. We might not need both of these. Only those wishing to play on the “A" team need to apply.

David will put together a packet for Middle School registration.

High School - Brad will not be at the registration on the 21st as a coach because the schedule will not yet be out and he is unable to have contact with the players because he is only allowed one meeting with the players prior to the season starting and he would like to wait until the schedule is available.

Oct 15th is a mandatory coach’s meeting in Waterville.

There appears to be a discrepancy in the number of weeks in the season. Brad will get clarification on this. (15 weeks?)

Fund Raising
Robyn presented a fund raising idea and introduced Sherry Arsenault. Robyn would head up this fund raiser. There are several catalogs and items to sell. Each player receives a percentage of their sales. Payment is due at the time of the order and delivery time is 2 weeks. The company does the sorting. This will be on a voluntary basis and different catalogs will be offered periodically. The Board voted to let Robyn present this fund raiser to the players on registration night. Robyn will keep the treasurer informed of sellers on the team and their progress. Robyn will provide a formal fund raising request on the template provided.

Treasurer’s Report
Andrea presented the treasurer’s report for current funds and expenditures. She also discussed the Basket Bingo fundraiser. There have been some discrepancies in the total number of donated baskets. Andrea is asking for verification for 7 donated baskets. Everything that was purchased has been accounted for except for some canning jars.

Cheryl made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and Barb Foster seconded it. All in favor.

Brad requested that copies of the financial reports be sent to the athletic Directors after each meeting. Andrea said that she would do that.

Assessments
Payments for the season must be paid in full after tryouts and before the first game for each team. No child will be allowed to play if payment has not been made.

It was decided to asses the Varsity an extra $40.00. JV payment will be $527.00 and varsity payment will be $567.00. This additional $40 will be due once the final roster is determined.

Registration Night
Notice will be sent home with the elementary school kids. Posters will be posted in both middle schools and announcements will be made at the middle schools.
