Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the March meeting were approved with no changes.

Clarification about summer fund raising
Barb Foster checked with Geoff Robbins about a conflict with raising funds during the summer. The High School players cannot fund raise during another sport's season, but summer is fair game for everyone. The parents are able to fund raise at anytime. The middle school can also fund raise with no restrictions.

Meeting times and location
There was a discussion about changing the by-laws pertaining to the date and location of the monthly meetings. It was suggested that the day of the monthly meeting be changed from Monday to Tuesday due to a conflict with practices during the season. The date and location will be communicated to the general membership at least two weeks prior to the meeting. Meetings will continue to be held monthly. (The by-laws committee will be meeting shortly and all permanent changes to the by-laws will be made after a vote by the board has been taken.)

By-Laws Committee
Trecia Travers, Cheryl Bascomb and Carol Renell agreed to meet and discuss changes to the by-laws. They will share those results at the May meeting.

Treasurer's Report
Andrea shared the updated Treasurer's report. There was a question about our doing business as GNG/Poland Hockey. Our account at the bank is also registered as the middle school. Andrea will contact Zuckerman and Devine to see about having the name on everything changed to the Blue liners to incorporate both the high school and middle school. The tax ID will need to be filed by May 15th. Linda Gagne agreed to look at it for Andrea since she works for H & R Block. The financial report was approved by unanimous vote.

Calendar Committee Preview
A preliminary calendar was presented that included some known events and some tentative dates. There can be more events added as the dates become available.

Fund Raising Committee
Some of the events planned include a Yard Sale, Spaghetti Dinner with silent auction, Golf Tournament, NASCAR raffle, and Basket Bingo. Mike Moberg is working on the golf tournament and will have more information for the next meeting. Carol Coy is working on the NASCAR raffle and would like to have a table at Oxford Plains. Robyn Davie is heading up the basket bingo fundraiser. It was approved by a unanimous vote to appropriate the necessary funds ($500.00) to purchase of the baskets for the Basket Bingo fund raiser. Dan Murphy suggested selling fruit before Thanksgiving (to be delivered before Christmas). He has been involved in this type of fund-raiser before and will check with the Rotary Club for more details. Sue Lajoie volunteered to track the credits from fundraising efforts for each individual player.

Role of the Board
Cheryl went over the guidelines that the committee had come up with for the role of the board for the high school and middle school. She explained that since the high school fell under the athletic directors, the role of the board for the middle school would be different. Based on the discussions, One of the items discussed was the role of the board when an assessment is in arrears. The Board will identify the players in arrears and will notify the Athletic Directors that the player is not eligible until paid and the AD will notify the HS Coach. The Coaching staff will no longer deal with any assesment issues. Barbara Foster will update this document with the changes discussed and will send it to the Athletic Directors for review. It will be presented for approval at our next meeting.

Carol will write a letter of thanks to the person that donated these tickets.

HS Coach's Report
Brad submitted names and resumes of several individuals that are interested in coaching next year. Several are returning coaches. It was decided that the board will also advertise for middle school coaching positions since we will still have openings at this level. Brad had a lengthy discussion on the vision of the current coaches for the middle school program next year to make it a more competitive program. The structure will be very similar to the HS with the 3rd line being the swing line. These players will not get as much playing time during the A games, but will swing to the B team for those games. A copy of the full report will be provided by Cheryl Bascomb for attachment to the minutes. Brad requested that we confirm the 1 hour ice time and that we all write a letter to the SMMHC requesting that they set the B team into tiers.

Summer Hockey
There will be a HS summer hockey team. Anyone that played last year will have the first slots on the team. Those incoming freshmen will be able to play based on availability of space. The cost will be figured by total cost divided by the number of players. Everyone will play equally during the summer season. If a player wants to try another position, this would be the time to do it. Brad will be responsible for communicating any information about summer hockey to the players.
